Comment
The University of Valladolid was one of the first universities founded in the world. Although there are different news about its creation, it was already a reality in the last quarter of the 13th century, enjoying the protection of the crown and, later, also of the Papacy. In the sixteenth century, the University of Valladolid was declared the Universidad Mayor del Reino, together with that of Salamanca and that of Alcalá. Since then, the University has marked the life of this city that was the birthplace of José Zorrilla, Jorge Guillén and Rosa Chacel, and also the last home of Admiral Cristóbal Colón.Interesting fact
