The first series is dedicated to the cities of Alcalá de Henares, Ávila, Baeza, Cáceres and Córdoba. The Santiago de Compostela 5 Euro coin from Spain, made of Silver (.925) and weighing 13.50g, features an interesting design. On its obverse side, it depicts a scallop shell, which is a symbol of the Camino de Santiago, a famous pilgrimage route that leads to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. The shell is surrounded by the inscription "Santiago de Compostela" and the year "2015." This design was created by the Spanish artist, Xavier Corberó, and it was minted to commemorate the 800th anniversary of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.
