Comment

A feature peculiar to these series is that each participating country allows its own national coat-of-arms to be reproduced and portrayed on the coins of the remaining countries, a never-before-seen circumstance in twenty-five centuries of Numismatic History. The reverses of the coins, accordingly, bear the national coat-of-arms of the issuing country surrounded by the arms of the other participating countries.
This 10th Ibero-American Series was dedicated to our CULTURAL ROOTS. The coins display lovely and creative designs, including the Wiphala flag on the Argentine coin, the Cave Paintings and the Pottery shown on the Cuban coin, the Lovers of Sumpa on the Ecuadorian coin, Spain's Warrior of Moixent, Guatemala's K'iche Maya Cosmogony displaying a very original design, Nicaragua's flechero Indian braves, Paraguay's Tereré, Peru's range of coins showing the Machu Picchu, the balconies of Lima, the Gold Tumi, and Portugal's tribute to its great liberator and leader, Viriato.

Interesting fact

The 5 Euro coin minted in 2015 to commemorate King Philip VI of Spain features an image of the monarch on one side and the Guerrero de Moixent, a famous Spanish warrior, on the other. What makes this coin particularly interesting is that it was minted using .925 silver, giving it a unique and valuable quality that sets it apart from other coins. Additionally, the coin weighs 13.5 grams, making it a substantial and notable piece of currency.
