Puerta de Alcalá: Built to celebrate the entrance into the city of the monarch Carlos III - the so-called best mayor of Madrid - is the work of the architect Francesco Sabatini and is located at the main entrance to the gardens of the Retiro. Of neoclassical style, it is made of granite from the mountains of Madrid and stone berroqueña consisting of five bays: three with a semicircular arch and keys shaped like a lion's head, and two laterals with a flat arch and two pairs of cornucopias carved by Roberto Michel .Interesting fact
