This coin is issued to commemorate the Cypriot poet Dimitris Lipertis on the 150th anniversary of his birth. It is the second collector coin of the series of Cyprus collector coins dedicated to highly accomplished Cypriot poets. Dimitris Lipertis has been recognised as one of the most distinguished idiomatic (vernacular) Cypriot poets. Through his poetry, he depicted the spirit, manners and customs of the people of Cyprus, joy and sorrow, love and death. The coin, which depicts a portrait of the poet, has been designed by George Stamatopoulos. The coin was minted by the Greek Mint.

Interesting fact

The coin's design features a unique combination of ancient and modern elements. The obverse side features a portrait of Dimitris Lipertis, a Cypriot poet and writer, while the reverse side depicts a scene from ancient Greek mythology, specifically the story of Ariadne and the Minotaur.
