Palace of the Assembly: Building headquarters of the City Council of Ceuta is built on the site of the old Town Hall. It began to be built in 1914 with the project of José Romero Barrero, and was inaugurated in 1927 by SS.MM. the Kings of Spain D. Alfonso XIII and D.ª Victoria Eugenia. Special mention should be made of the imperial staircase -with Portuguese-inspired ceramics by Ruiz de Luna-, the French-style throne room, the empire-style rotunda and the Spanish Renaissance session room, with a careful ceiling and frescoes by the painter Mariano Bertuchi and works by the sculptor Cándido Mata Cañamaque.Interesting fact
