Comment

The Santa Iglesia Catedral Metropolitana began to be built during the 13th to 15th centuries on the foundations of the old Romanesque cathedral and has as its headlines Santa Cruz and Santa Eulalia. The main facade is the most recent work of the cathedral, and is dated at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th. The Monument to Columbus is the most famous statue of the Ciudad Condal. Located at the southern end of Las Ramblas, it is a giant building that rises 60 meters above the sky with the figure of the universal navigator placed at the highest point and looking towards his great passion: the sea.

Interesting fact

The 5 Euro Barcelona 2010 coin from Spain features the iconic La Sagrada Familia, a cathedral designed by Antoni Gaudí, on its obverse side.
