This commemorative $5 coin was struck by the RAM and issued by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand as part of a four coin uncirculated set. The coin set was promoting EXPO 92 which was held in New Zealand that year. This particular coin celebrates Abel Tasman who is credited with being the first European to sight New Zealand in 1642 after he also discovered Tasmania.This was front & back of the Slipcard that the four coin set came in.
