Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a unique portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, which was designed specifically for the Tokelauan coinage. This fourth portrait of the Queen was created by sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley and was first used on Tokelauan coins in 2012. It features a more mature and regal depiction of the Queen, with a slightly different crown and a more detailed background. This portrait was used on several other Tokelauan coins, including the 5 cents coin made of copper-nickel, and has become a distinctive feature of Tokelau's currency.
