Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 1982-1989 Canadian 5-cent coin featuring Elizabeth II's second portrait is that it was the last coin to be made of copper-nickel before the composition was changed to a copper-plated steel. This change was made to reduce the cost of production, as the price of copper and nickel had increased significantly in the late 1980s.
