The 5 Centavos coin from Brazil, minted between 1994 and 1997, was made of stainless steel and weighed 3.27 grams. This coin was unique in that it was the first coin in Brazil's history to feature a portrait of a real person, namely, the country's first president, Deodoro da Fonseca. This coin was also the first to have a standardized design across all denominations, featuring the Brazilian flag on one side and the national emblem on the other.
