Comment

This collection is the third issue of a collection of coins called "Treasures of Spanish Museums." In the coins that make up this series, emblematic pieces of the Museums of our country are reproduced. This III Series is composed of five coins that recreate, each one of them, works by the artists Goya, Velázquez, Arcimboldo, Rubens, Tintoretto and Madrazo.

Francisco José de Goya y Lucientes (30 March 1746 – 16 April 1828) was a Spanish romantic painter and printmaker. He is considered the most important Spanish artist of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. His paintings, drawings, and engravings reflected contemporary historical upheavals and influenced important 19th- and 20th-century painters. Goya is often referred to as the last of the Old Masters and the first of the moderns.

Interesting fact

The Francisco de Goya 400 Euro coin is a non-circulating coin minted in 2015 by Spain. One interesting fact about this coin is that it features an image of Goya's famous painting "The Duchess of Alba" on its obverse side. The coin's reverse side features an image of Goya himself, along with the coin's denomination and country of origin. This coin is made of .999 gold and weighs 27 grams. It is a unique and valuable collector's item for those interested in art, history, and numismatics.
