Mountains, prairies, forests... so many different landscapes, all synonymous with Canada - this natural diversity is truly one of the country's great attractions. The Canadian people can be proud of the breathtaking beauty that characterizes their land for the world to see, a splendor that is represented on the reverse of this coin, where some of the country's most spectacular scenes are interwoven to form a single vision of "home" that will touch every Canadian.DID YOU KNOW?
Canada is the world's third-largest forest nation, with 347 million hectares of woodland, equivalent to 38% of its territory.
The country boasts the world's largest surface area of lakes! Straddling the Canada-U.S. border, the five Great Lakes are among the largest in the world. However, many of our major bodies of water (rivers and lakes) are located in Canada's North - home to the country's longest river, the Mackenzie (4,241 km long), and the largest lake entirely within Canada's borders, Great Bear Lake.
On the other side of the coin, the Gray Jay lives year-round in the boreal forest, and can be found in all Canadian provinces and territories.
Raised on Vancouver Island, I've always found solace in the wilderness, and have a deep affection for the vastness and diversity of the Canadian landscape - the uniqueness of each coastline, the forests, the rugged mountains, the northern tundra and the prairies that serve as a bridge between them all.

It's a real challenge to capture the diversity and spirit of Canada in a single image, but this design does it beautifully and harmoniously. For me, this painting of our land from coast to coast expresses the pride we have in our home, and even evokes memories of travels that have shaped my own perception of Canada.

Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the "Visions of Canada" silver coin is that it features a unique reverse design that showcases a stylized maple leaf, which is a symbol of Canada. The maple leaf has been laser-engraved to create a beautiful, intricate pattern that shimmers in the light. This design element adds an extra layer of depth and visual interest to the coin, making it a truly distinctive piece for collectors.
