Comment

Not a very common coin, part of the third issue of Maria Theresa, struck at the mint in Brussels.

Two variations of legend on the right are known:

a. MAR•TH•D:G•R•JMP•H•B•R•DUX•LUXEMB•+ (L251-1)
b. MAR•TII•D:G•R•JMP•II•B•R•DUX•LUXEMB•+ (L251-2)

Interesting fact

The Maria Theresa 1775 coin from the Duchy of Luxembourg is interesting because it was minted during the reign of Maria Theresa, who was the first female head of state of the House of Habsburg, ruling over a vast territory that included Luxembourg, Austria, and other parts of Europe. Despite being minted over 240 years ago, this coin is still considered legal tender in Luxembourg today, a testament to its historical significance and enduring value.
