The Swiss campaign is a glorious chapter of the fighting way of A. V. Suvorov and an outstanding event in the military history of Russia. On September 13-14, 1799 Russian troops accomplished under A. V. Suvorov's command the march across the Alps from the Northern Italy to Switzerland and won a victory over one of the best French divisions on the Reys stream near the Devil Bridge, which had been thrown over a gorge at the height of 23 meters.
