The Vatican Mint has issued the 25 euro colour coin designed by artist Daniela Fusco to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the birth of Pope Paul VI. The image of the Pope, taken from an official photograph in 1969, appeared on the tapestry shown in Saint Peter’s Square on the occasion of his canonisation presided over by Pope Francis on 14 October 2018.Interesting fact
The Franciscus coin features an image of Pope Paul VI on the obverse side, while the reverse side depicts St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and the environment.
