One interesting fact about the 1965-1966 Guatemalan 25 Centavos coin is that it features a unique design that reflects the country's rich cultural heritage. The obverse side of the coin depicts the national emblem of Guatemala, which includes a Quetzal bird, a symbol of freedom and independence, surrounded by a wreath of laurel leaves. The reverse side features a stylized image of the volcano Fuego, which is located in the western highlands of Guatemala and is considered a sacred site by the indigenous people. The coin's design was created by the Guatemalan artist and sculptor, José de Jesús Lopez Lopez, and it is considered a notable example of Latin American numismatic art.
