Comment

Under the name 'Numismatic Jewels', in 2008 a new series of collector coins begins in which unique pieces of Spanish numismatics will be reproduced, and which will continue over the next few years. For this first edition, dedicated to the Roman aureus and the Greek drachma, the Spanish Royal Mint proceeded to strike a coin in .999 gold which, together with the double 4-reales coin in silver, makes up this new set.
Roman Aureus of Augustus (27 BC-AD 14) struck in Roman Colony of Caesaraugusta (Zaragoza, Spain) in 19-18 BC.

Interesting fact

The Roman Aureus of Augustus coin has a unique feature - it has a mirror-like finish, which gives it a distinctive shine and makes it stand out from other coins.
