This is the next Super Incuse SML. The 2020 Rhodium-Plated 1 oz. SML had a standard incuse depth of 0.3 mm, but thanks to new technology developed by our Research and Development team, this coin’s intricately engraved maple leaf sits 1.5 mm below the coin’s surface – that’s nearly 40% of the coin gauge.

Bold black rhodium
To emphasize the incuse strike and add a modern edge, the deeply recessed maple leaf has been plated with black rhodium. Black rhodium plating also fills the field on the coin’s obverse, and it darkens both the coin’s edge and rim to boldly frame the reverse.
