Comment
Note: 7th bust, short truncation with closed lapels
Obverse:
-"O" of “ESTADO” is larger than the “D”.
-Crossbar on first “A” of “OAXACA” is re-engraved.
-Angular truncation on bust.
Reverse:
-Spur on left side of “D” of “MONEDA”.
-"L" of “IONAL” is re-engraved (Vertical stroke).
-Line connects top of “A” to bottom of “L”.
-Spur on right side of numeral “O”.
As is the case of the 5 and 10 centavos coins, two styles of the lettering occurred. Type I has thin, rugged letters and numbers while Type II consist of heavy, regularly shaped letter. In some cases it might well be argued that the Type II letters & numbers were re-engraved over the Type I letters & numbers.
Interesting fact
The 1915 20 Centavos coin from the State of Oaxaca is interesting because it was issued during a time of political turmoil in Mexico, when the country was in the midst of a civil war. Despite the challenges, the coin was still minted with a high level of craftsmanship, featuring intricate details and a beautiful design. Additionally, the use of copper as the material for the coin adds to its unique character and historical significance.
