Valentin Petrovich Glushko (1908-1989) - scientist, member of the Academy of Sciences of the Soviet Union, initiator of the soviet liquid fuel rocket engine construction. He was the very first in the world constructor of electro-thermal rocket engine and liquid fuel rocket engines (1930-1931), which have been installed in many home space rockets.

Interesting fact

The 2 Roubles (V.P. Glushko) 2008 coin from Russia features an image of Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman to fly in space, on its obverse side. This coin was issued to commemorate the 45th anniversary of her historic spaceflight aboard the Vostok 6 spacecraft in 1963.
