Date of issue: 01 SEP 2008David Fyodorovich Oistrakh (1908-1974) - the outstanding violinist, one of the creators of the home violin school, laureate of many international violin competitions, honored member of foreign musician academies. D.F. Oistrakh was the very first interpreter of violin concerts and sonatas devoted to him by D.D. Shostakovich, S.S. Prokofyev, A.I. Khachaturyan, N.Ya. Myaskovsky and. others.
