Pavel Petrovich Bazhov (January 27 (15), 1879-December 3, 1950) - a Russian writer who used Ural folklore myths and characters in his tales collected in the books "The Malachite Box", "The Stone Key" and "Tales about Germans". He also wrote the autobiographical story "The Green Locust", a book of memoirs entitled "Far Away and Near" and essays.

The interesting fact about this coin is that it features a unique design, showcasing a portrait of P.P. Bazhov, a famous Russian writer and poet, on one side, and a scene from his famous fairy tale "The Tale of the Silver Saucer and the Golden Apple" on the other. The coin's design was created by the artist V.A. Nefedev.
