Date of issue: 03 DEC 1996Nikolai Alexeyewich Nekrasov (1821-1878) - a Russian poet, prose writer and critic. He was editor and publisher of the magazines "Sovremennik" (1847-1866) and "Otechestvennye Zapiski" (1868-1878). His long poems "The Hawkers", "Father Frost, the Red Nose", "Russian Women" and "For Whom Living Is Good in Russia" and shorter verses draw a colourful picture of everyday life of the Russian people.
