Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it was counter-marked with a letter "S" on the obverse (front) side, indicating that it was issued by the State of El Salvador. This counter-mark was applied to coins that were minted in Spain but were intended for use in El Salvador, and it helped to distinguish them from coins minted specifically for use in Spain. This coin is a rare example of a counter-marked coin from El Salvador, making it a valuable and interesting piece for collectors.
