Second of three coins issued to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare, by honouring his work. This coin represents the histories, the other coins in the series represent the comedies and the tragedies. Issued as part of the Annual Gold Coin Set for 2016 (82 sales) as well as individually (156 sales), the design was also issued in copper-nickel, silver proof and silver piedfort.
