Samuel Pepys was one of the most famous diarists in history, his diaries provide first-hand accounts of life in 17th Century London. This two-pound piece commemorates his final diary entry on the 31st May 1669.Released as part of the 2019 annual gold proof commemorative sets (Issue Limit: 100; sales 88), as well as individually (138 sales), the design was also struck in copper-nickel, silver proof and silver piedfort. Issue limit: 350.
