Interesting fact
The 2 Mark coin from Sweden, issued during the reign of Johan III in 1592, was made of Billon, which is an alloy of silver and copper. Specifically, it contains 48.4% silver and 51.6% copper. This composition was chosen to reduce the cost of production, as silver was a more expensive metal at the time. Despite being made of a less valuable metal, the coin still holds significant historical value and is sought after by collectors today.
