The coin is dedicated to 130th anniversary of Volodymyr Filatov, an outstanding ophthalmologist and surgeon, whose greatest discovery was a tissue therapy - a principally new medical treatment method. Volodymyr Filatov is a brilliant representative of a Pleiad of scientists who have enriched world medical science with distinguished achievements. He was the founder of the national scientific school of ophthalmologists, a foundation initiator and director of Odesa scientific and research institute for eye-diseases and tissue therapy
