Comment

The commemorative coin is dedicated to Pavlo Platonovych Chubynskyi, an ethnographer, folklorist, poet and public figure, who is the author of the Anthem of Ukraine "Ukraine's glory hasn't perished, nor her freedom…". Pavlo Platonovych held deservedly an important position within the pleiad of the public figures and scientists of the second part of the XIX century, the Herculean efforts whereof made the national rebirth of Ukraine possible. As one of the founders of Ukrainian ethnographic science he was in charge of the ethnographic expeditions researching Ukraine, Russia and Moldavia.
