The commemorative coin is dedicated to the 130th anniversary of birth of Mykola Strazhesko (1876 – 1952), a scientist in the field of medicine, who was the founder of the national cardiology. Mykola Strazhesko was one of the initiators of the contemporary Institute for Cardiology of the Ukrainian Academy of Medical Sciences, which is mostly engaged in clinical and experimental researches.
