Comment

The coin is dedicated to the birth centenary of Maksym Rylsky, a classic of the Ukrainian literature of the 20th century, a talented translator, scholar and public figure. Rich heritage of the outstanding poet ("Roses and Grapes", "Distant Horizon", "Autumn in Golosiiv", etc.) has raised the modern Ukrainian poetry to the summits of the world literature.

Interesting fact

The Maksym Rylsky 2 Hryvni coin from Ukraine features an image of a Kobzar, a traditional Ukrainian musician, on the obverse (front side). The Kobzar is depicted playing a bandura, a traditional Ukrainian stringed instrument. This design was chosen to honor the cultural heritage of Ukraine and to recognize the important role that music has played in Ukrainian history and identity.
