Comment
Completely unpublished and unlisted. Missing from the main reference works, found only in MONNAIES VI, Kolsky Collection, no. 1662. This copy has a slightly raised listel. Note the presence of Patey's differences: this means that an original corner was used, rather than one remade from the die. We thus know that Patey had prepared a corner with the year 1907, which was never used.

The two variants appear to be unpublished and never referenced, although there is a trial of this type in cupro-nickel-aluminum, the latter as unpublished as the first two.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 1907 French Pattern 2 Francs coin made of Nickel is that it was designed by sculptor and engraver, Oscar Roty. Roty was a renowned artist and engraver who was known for his work on various coins and medals, and his design for this coin features a beautiful depiction of the French Republic on the obverse side, and a stunning image of a Gallic rooster on the reverse side. The coin's design was meant to symbolize the country's rich history and culture, and it remains a popular collector's item among numismatists today.
