The Royal Australian Mint in conjunction with Anaconda has teamed up to release on the 28th of March this coloured $2 coin, celebrating the 2024 NRL Women's competition. It is available separately as change into circulation at Anaconda stores when making a purchase.
A slightly different coin celebrating the Men's NRL competition was also issued into circulation.
Both of these $2 coins were issued in conjunction with a set of 17 NCLT one dollar coins that were celebrating all of the teams competing in the NRL Premiership in 2024.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it is the first circulating commemorative coin to feature the 6th portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, which was designed specifically for the Women's National Rugby League (NRL) in Australia.
