The Royal Australian Mint in conjunction with Anaconda has teamed up to release on the 28th of March this coloured $2 coin, celebrating the 2024 NRL Men's competition. It is available separately as change into circulation at Anaconda stores when making a purchase.
A slightly different coin celebrating the Women's NRL competition was also issued into circulation.
Both of these $2 coins were issued in conjunction with a set of 17 NCLT one dollar coins that were celebrating all of the teams competing in the NRL Premiership in 2024.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a unique design that commemorates the Men's National Rugby League (NRL) in Australia. The coin's reverse side depicts a stylized image of a rugby player in action, with the words "Men's NRL" and "2024" inscribed above and below the image, respectively. This design was created to celebrate the popularity and excitement of rugby league in Australia, and to recognize the sport's rich history and tradition in the country.
