The commemorative coin was issued in denomination of 100 tenge for the 25th anniversary of the new capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is officially celebrated on July 6.The transfer of the capital of Kazakhstan from Alma-Ata to Akmola took place on December 10, 1997, and already in 1998 the new capital received its modern name - Astana.
