The watusi, African ox, has a sacred value for several peoples of the region and is therefore never slaughtered. To own one is a sign of power.
Interesting fact
The 100 Shillings coin was introduced in 2007 as a replacement for the 100 Shillings note, which was previously the highest denomination in circulation. The coin was designed to reduce the cost of printing and handling large denomination notes, and it has since become a popular and widely used denomination in Uganda.
