The interesting fact about this coin is that it was issued to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the first human spaceflight, which was accomplished by Yuri Gagarin in 1961. The coin features an image of Gagarin on the obverse and the spacecraft Vostok 1 on the reverse. The coin's design was created by the artist A. V. Bakhrushin, and it was minted by the Moscow Mint.
