The ninth design in The Queen's Beasts bullion series which began in 2017 with the Lion of England, there are a total of ten Beasts representing the statues that stood in Westminster Abbey on the Queen's Coronation in 1953. The original statues are now on display in the Canadian Museum of History at Gatineau, whilst James Woodford's sculpted replicas stand in the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew, London. This Jody Clark reverse design was struck in a variety of base and precious metal compositions and denominations.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the coin is that it features a unique design of the White Greyhound of Richmond, which is a symbol of the Duke of Richmond and is not commonly seen on coins.
