Issued to commemorate the 70th wedding anniversary of HM The Queen & HRH Prince Philip, there were 11 different issues of varying metals and denominations which all share the Etienne Millner obverse. However, the £25 platinum, £5 platinum piedfort, £10 gold/silver and 1kg gold/silver have an alternate John Bergdahl reverse which depicts the heraldic lineage of the two families.Issue limit: 2,147
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Platinum Wedding Silver Proof coin is that it features a unique double portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, designed by sculptor John Bergdahl, which is not found on any other coin. This special design was created to commemorate the 70th anniversary of their wedding and is a rare departure from the traditional single portrait of the Queen that is commonly seen on coins.
