The Mutual Economic Assistance Council or Mutual Economic Assistance Council (RGW - Rat für gegenseitige Wirtschaftshilfe in German) was an economic assistance organization between different countries of the communist bloc. Created by Stalin in 1949, it dissolved with the fall of the Soviet empire on June 28, 1991, at the end of the Cold War.
