Comment

This collection is the first issue that starts a collection of coins called "Treasures of Spanish Museums." In the coins that make up this series, emblematic pieces of the Museums of Spain are reproduced.

Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino (March 28 or April 6, 1483 – April 6, 1520), now generally known in English as Raphael, was an Italian painter and architect of the High Renaissance. His work is admired for its clarity of form, ease of composition, and visual achievement of the Neoplatonic ideal of human grandeur. Together with Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo, he forms the traditional trinity of great masters of that period.

Interesting fact

The 10 Euro Raphael coin from Spain, made of Silver (.925) and weighing 27g, features an image of Raphael's famous painting, "The School of Athens," which depicts some of the greatest minds of ancient Greece, including Plato, Aristotle, and Euclid.
