Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the coin is that the design of the Inuk and Qulliq on the coin was created by Inuit artist Tim Pitsiulak, who was born and raised in the Kugluktuk, Nunavut. Pitsiulak's design was chosen as the winner of a national contest held by the Royal Canadian Mint in 2018. The coin was then produced in 2020 as part of the Mint's ongoing efforts to showcase Indigenous culture and art on its currency.
