The Battle of Les Saintes took place from April 9 to April 12, 1782, during the Anglo-French War, between a British fleet led by George Rodney and a French fleet led by the Comte de Grasse. The British fleet emerged victorious. The confrontation was named after the islands of Les Saintes (an archipelago separated from Basse-Terre in Guadeloupe by the Canal des Saintes) and Dominica, where it took place.
