Interesting fact
The Pattern 10 centimes (Epreuve en aluminium de Dubois) 1905-1909 was a trial coin minted in aluminum, which was a novel material for coins at the time. It was created by the French engineer and inventor, Charles Dubois, who developed a process for extracting aluminum from ore and casting it into coins. The coin was never officially adopted for circulation, but it remains an interesting example of early experimentation with aluminum in coinage.
