IMPORTANT NOTES:
1981 Issue:
On Krause catalogues, is listed KM# 415.2, as dated 1981, and is not listed 1989 issue. The picture shown at Krause is from a 1989 coin. We believe the listing of 1981 date is a mistake, and the coin is 1989 only. If someone can confirm existence, please contact referee or an administrator, and send picture of the coin, on both sides. Thank you.

1989 Issue: This coin is not catalogued on Krause catalogs, they only show the steel version as KM# 415.2a, and the smaller version copper-nickel KM# 415.3

Zunzún is the smallest hummingbird in the world, also known as "pájaro mosca" (fly bird), only 63 mm (2 1/2"). Name comes from the sound of their wings when flying.
There are about 300 species of hummingbirds at Cuba, and in spite Zunzún is not scarce, is hard to see, cause lives on deep forest, and usually avoids contact with humans.

Minted at Havana, reported weight varies from 3.78g to 4.08g

Interesting fact

The 10 Centavos coin from Cuba, minted between 1981 and 1989, features a unique design that showcases the country's cultural heritage. On one side, the coin features an image of a sugarcane worker, symbolizing the country's long history of sugar production and its significance to the Cuban economy. The other side features the national coat of arms, which includes a shield with a star, a key, and a bundle of arrows, representing the country's struggle for independence and its commitment to socialism. This coin is an interesting collector's item for numismatists and those interested in Cuban history and culture.
