Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 1 Yuan coin from the Republic of China (1914-1921) is that it was designed by a French sculptor named Paul-Émile Bouchard. Bouchard was a renowned artist who had previously worked on several other coin designs for different countries, and his design for the 1 Yuan coin features a portrait of a robust man, which is where the coin got its nickname "Fat Man dollar." The coin's design was meant to symbolize the prosperity and wealth of China, and it was widely used during the Republican period.
