Comment
This coin commemorates Yuan Shikai's attempt to restore the Empire of China by proclaiming himself Emperor Hongxian in 1915; however, this attempt was a failure, and the Empire lasted only 83 days.
L&M# 1114 and L&M# 1116 use slightly different dies. The difference can easily be seen on the top of the plume on the hat. There are more differences, and 1116 is generally more detailed than 1114, and is considered a special strike.
