Struck with a special garter design to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the modern sovereign, this piece features Pistrucci’s original 1817 ‘garter’ design for the first time since 1820, with the date appearing on the obverse for the first time since 1887. The coin was issued in a 5-coin set (749 sales, issue limit 750), in a premium 3-coin set (449 sales, issue limit 450), in a standard 3-coin set (997 sales, issue limit 1,000) and individually (10,486 sales, issue limit 10,500).

Three Strike on the Day issues were released in 2017, with this garter type being struck on 1st July in Brilliant Uncirculated quality with a plain edge (1,786 sales, issue limit 1,817).
