The Andean condor (Vultur gryphus) derives from the Quechua word "kuntur" and is the largest flying bird in the world. Distributed in the Andes of all South America, in Peru inhabits mountainous areas up to 5 000 meters above sea level and near coastal areas where there are abundant sea breezes and strong thermal air currents that allow you to plan given its great weight (up to 15 kg) and wingspan (up to 3 m). This magnificent species can live more than 70 years, reaches its maturity reproductive at 6 years and can have a baby every two years.
